Role of Alice
Alice Ridpath- 18
I have chosen Alice as the role of Alice as out of my final as when I looked at the possibilities to play the leading role in my film I knew Alice would be perfect as she is very confident and wouldn't be camera shy, as I want somebody to be able to not be nervous in front of the camera.
Ellie Walker- 17
I have not chosen Ellie to play the protagonist in my film as when I planned my timings for filming as Ellie lives at the other side of the city to me it would prove very difficult to film, when I need her.
Jasmine Davies- 17
I have not chosen Jasmine to play the protagonist in my film as Jasmine has commitments to work over the weekend it would prove to be convenient as this is when I will be filming most of my film.
Role of Becky
Rebecca Sutherland- 17
I have chosen Rebecca to play the part of Becky, Alice's friend in my film as we live very close together Rebecca will be able to help me film whenever is convenient to her.
Emily Cooper- 18
I have not chosen Emily to play the part of Becky as she works on weekends and this is the only time I will be able to film because I have to film when it's light.
Jennie Brighton- 17
I have not chosen to play the part of Becky as I will do all of my filming on the weekends and this is when Jennie is working; as Jennie also studies media when she has time from work she will be filming for her studies and therefore cannot take time away from this.

Characters in The Wrong Turn
Alice (Protagonist)
The protagonist in my film is a girl called Alice who has moved to a new city to start her new life because of a troubled past which she can't seem to escape from and new memories start to arise when she finds out that everything is not as perfect as it seems with her new neighbourhood.
This is imy protagonist in the outfit which she will wear in my film The Wrong Turn.
This is a long shot of my protagonist in my film without the glasses on and also with the bag which she has at the beggining of the film when she takes it out of the car.
This is my protagonist again without her glasses on which in some of my shots she will not have her glasses on.
This is another close up image of my protagonist but this time wearing her glasses as she will for most of the film have them on but sometimes the light will reflet off the glasses and this is why in some shots she won't have the glasses on.
This is another long shot of my protagonist without her glasses on showing the full outift which she will be wearing throughout my film.
Becky (Protagonist)
Becky is Alice's friend which she meets when she is moving into the house and they both go to the same university which is the reason why Alice has moved there. Becky is quite, loyal and friendly but like Alice has hidden secrets which we find out about later and from the start we realise that she knows more than she is telling the audience.

Costume
Alice
Purple Dress
Coat/Cape
Heeled Boots
The costume that my characters will be wearing is casual. Alice will be wearing a purple coloured dress as purple represents mystery something which Alice has a lot of due to the audience not knowing what happened in her past life although we know she has a story behind her sweet face. She will also be wearing a coat/cape as it is cold and this is an everyday piece of clothing. As well as wearing a coat she will also be wearing a fur scarf to show wealth; and some heeled boots so we can hear her as she is walking around the house.
Becky
Grey Jumper
Jeans
Boots
Becky is wearing a jumper and jeans when we first see her, as she is dressed quite casual as she has just come out of her house and as she is laid back I want this to be represented in her clothing.

Locations
This week I have been looking at locations in which I can
shoot my film and I will shoot some shots at college for when my protagonist is
in university as this will match my idea of the protagonist been at university.
When shooting the shots that are based in the house of the protagonist I am
going to film some shots outside student accommodation next to the university
in which the protagonist would be going to as this looks like a small town in
which hardly anyone is around as well as it looking more realistic. The shots
actually inside the house I am going to film in one of my friends’ houses as
this looks more realistic and true to what I want to achieve.
Locations I will use are:
- My house INTERIOR
- My car INTERIOR and EXTERIOR
- Friends house EXTERIOR
- My street EXTERIOR
This is an image of my house I am going to use, for in particular the first few shots of the opening sequence when the protagonist moves into the new house, I didnt want my house to look overly scary and I wanted it to look welcoming like an actual house would look like when somebody moves in.
This is the car in were the protagonist will drive to her new home in, this will be the additional opening shot were the protagonist will be looking out of the window.

Genre and Story Type
For the first week of planning my creative project I choose
my genre of my film which is thriller/ mystery; I have chosen this as I already
have a slight knowledge of the thriller genre as this was also the genre for my
creative project in my first year in film studies therefore I already have an
understanding and know what my film should involve.
I also choose my story type which is The Wanderer, this is
about a character which arrives in a new place and discovers a problem
associated with it. In facing the problem she reveals why she left the last
place, then attempts to move on again. To gain more knowledge on this I will
watch a film called Shane, directed by George Stevens 1953, as this will show
me the shots they have used for various scenes when trying to deliver various emotions
as well as the narrative in the film.Thursday, 6 September 2012
Brief
This brief is a creative project in which I will create an extract or a complete short film
which has to be 3-5 minutes in length; I have to engage my audience by using
the stylistics of my chosen genre, the theory and the aim of my extract or
short film and context of the production.
